After years of abuse by his aunt and uncle, the orphaned middle schooler Mirai Kakehashi tries to end his life, only to be caught mid-fall by the angel Nasse, who picks him as a God candidate. Nasse grants him wings, a red arrow that forces its target to love him for thirty-three days, and a white arrow that kills on contact. Mirai has to survive a contest against twelve other candidates, among them the masked serial killer Metropoliman, to decide who becomes the next God.
