Twenty years ago, fourteen warriors were dispatched by the Emperor of Szaalenden to defeat the nation of Wischtech, but only seven returned — having slaughtered the four who completed the mission and branded them traitors to claim the glory. One of those condemned, the Blatt Meister Ascheriit, survived and returns as the young swordsman Köinzell, hunting each of the Seven Heroes with a black blade in hand.
