Synopsis
Anna Sasaki, a withdrawn twelve-year-old with asthma, leaves Sapporo to spend summer with relatives in a coastal Hokkaido town. Across a salt marsh sits an abandoned mansion where Anna meets Marnie, a blonde girl who asks her to keep their meetings secret. The two explore the estate and the bay together night after night, but Marnie appears and disappears without explanation, and the mansion holds a connection to Anna's own family history.
