Shelter

Rin, a seventeen-year-old girl, lives alone in a virtual simulation where she can reshape the landscape — meadows, cliffs, oceans — by drawing on a tablet. Each day she creates a new world, but fragments of memory surface: her father Shigeru, their house, a looming catastrophe he built the simulation to protect her from. This six-minute animated short, produced by A-1 Pictures for Porter Robinson and Madeon's single, tells its story almost entirely without dialogue.
