Nice and Murasaki run a low-rent detective agency called Hamatora out of Café Nowhere in Yokohama, taking odd jobs from anyone who walks in. Both are Minimum Holders, people born with supernatural abilities that trigger under specific conditions, and their friend Art, a police officer, pulls them into a string of killings that target other Holders. The victims turn up with their brains removed, and the case keeps circling back toward Nice's own past.
