Synopsis
Yotarou, a recently released convict, tracks down the aging rakugo master Yakumo Yurakutei VIII to beg for an apprenticeship after falling in love with a performance of the story 'Shinigami.' Against everyone's expectations, Yakumo accepts him. In Yakumo's household, Yotarou meets Konatsu, daughter of a legendary storyteller who died under circumstances tied to Yakumo's past. Konatsu yearns to perform rakugo herself, but the tradition bars women from the stage.
