Natsuru Senō, an ordinary high-school boy, wakes up one morning transformed into a girl. A stuffed animal named Harakiri Tora informs him he has been chosen as a Kämpfer — a fighter who can only use powers in female form. Armed with fire-based Zauber magic, Natsuru is thrown into battles against other Kämpfer, including the shy librarian Akane Mishima and student council president Shizuku Sangō. Between fights, he still tries to win over his crush Kaede Sakura, who only seems interested in his female side.
