Among the study materials Angelica sends her, Chise Hatori finds a Japanese picture book she read as a child, and Elias Ainsworth asks where it came from. The answer is a hidden library in the forest, where a younger Chise, newly orphaned and unwanted by her relatives, took shelter from the spirits that followed her. Its keeper, Riichi Miura, let her stay and read, and these three OVA episodes cover the friendship they built over the books.
