Keitaro Urashima has failed the Tokyo University entrance exam twice and is running out of family patience, so he takes refuge at his grandmother's old inn in the town of Hinata — only to find that it has been converted into a women-only dorm. Made the dorm's reluctant manager, he keeps studying for his next attempt at the exam while sharing the building with the short-tempered Naru Narusegawa, the kendo-fixated Motoko Aoyama, and a handful of equally unimpressed residents.
