Uramichi Omota is a thirty-one-year-old former gymnast who anchors the exercise corner on the preschool variety show Together with Maman, and the cheerful smile he aims at the cameras keeps slipping into bleak honesty about adult life. Around him, the rabbit mascot Usao and bear mascot Kumao — worn by his colleagues Tobikichi and Mitsuo — drop the same cynical asides, while the singing duo Iketeru Daga and Utano Tadano stand by ready to pivot the broadcast back to song whenever Uramichi's mood swings live on air.
