Tenth Division captain Tōshirō Hitsugaya is escorting the King's Seal through Soul Society when the convoy is ambushed by a Soul Reaper named Sōjirō Kusaka, backed by two assassins called Yin and Yang. The Seal is taken, Hitsugaya vanishes from his post in pursuit, and Soul Society brands him a traitor and orders his capture. In the human world, Ichigo Kurosaki finds the wounded captain and is drawn into the hunt as Kusaka turns out to wield Hyōrinmaru — the very zanpakutō Hitsugaya himself carries. This second Bleach feature film is set during the TV series timeline.
