In 2307, with fossil fuels long spent, the world runs on solar arrays fed through three orbital elevators, one held by each of the ruling blocs: the Union, the Human Reform League and the AEU. The nations shut out of that energy keep the planet at war, and the private group Celestial Being answers by unveiling four advanced mobile suits called Gundams and a stated goal of ending all conflict through direct armed intervention. Setsuna F. Seiei, a former child soldier from Krugis, pilots the Gundam Exia as one of four Gundam Meisters who strike at any nation engaged in combat. Their campaign pushes the rival blocs toward uniting against them.
