Aoi Bungaku is a twelve-episode anthology that adapts six landmark works of modern Japanese literature, produced by Madhouse for the Noitamina block. Osamu Dazai's No Longer Human opens the run across four episodes, with his Run, Melos! and Natsume Soseki's Kokoro following. The remaining episodes adapt Ryunosuke Akutagawa's Hell Screen and The Spider's Thread and Ango Sakaguchi's In the Forest, Under Cherries in Full Bloom, each segment standing on its own.
