Synopsis
Kafka Hibino, a 32-year-old who has spent years cleaning up kaiju remains, has never given up on the dream of joining the Defense Force alongside his childhood friend Mina Ashiro, now captain of the feared Third Division. After a small parasite-like kaiju enters his body, Kafka gains the ability to transform into a humanoid kaiju designated No. 8—a power he must conceal from the very organization he wants to join. With rookie Reno Ichikawa at his side, Kafka passes the Defense Force entrance exam and is assigned to Mina's division, hiding what he's become.
