College student Zhang Chulan is ambushed by reanimated corpses while visiting his grandfather's grave, and survives only by instinctively channeling qi, a martial power his grandfather taught him in secret. He is pulled out of the fight by Feng Baobao, an emotionless girl of extraordinary skill who has been passing herself off as the dead man's granddaughter. Digging into why his grandfather's body was stolen, Zhang Chulan meets the Outsiders, the hidden users of qi, and finds rival factions already circling him over the power he is said to have inherited. This Chinese-Japanese co-production adapts the manhua of the same name.
