In a world where the spirits of legendary racehorses are reborn as Umamusume, girls with horse ears and tails who run and perform as idols, country newcomer Special Week transfers into Tokyo's Tracen Academy. She enrolls to honor a promise to her mother to become the best Umamusume in Japan, and is placed on Team Spica alongside runners like Silence Suzuka. From there she trains to compete in the Twinkle Series, the academy's circuit of professional races.
