Hidden inside an old ink painting lies the Mirror Capital, a second Kyoto where humans and demons live together and anything broken instantly mends itself. The city was drawn into being by the monk Myoue, who can bring his pictures to life, and his companion Koto, a black rabbit given human form. Into it arrives a schoolgirl also named Koto, traveling with her brothers A and Un to find the black rabbit she believes is her missing mother.
