Cocona is a cautious middle schooler in Fukushima, weighing which high school to pick, when an energetic girl named Papika crashes into her life on a flying board. Papika pulls her into Pure Illusion, a shifting dreamlike realm, in search of fragments of a wish-granting object called the amorphous. Recruited into the organization FlipFlap, the two transform into Pure Blade and Pure Barrier and dive through one strange world after another for the scattered shards.
