For centuries, Japan's corporations have settled disputes through Kengan matches — secret, unarmed gladiator bouts where a hired fighter's win decides the deal. Ordinary salaryman Kazuo Yamashita witnesses a brutal back-alley brawl and ends up managing its victor, Ohma Tokita, a fighter who crushes opponents with a technique called the Niko Style. When the Nogi Group enters Ohma into a winner-take-all tournament for the Kengan Association chairmanship, Kazuo is dragged ringside into a world he never knew existed.
