In a ruined, near-silent city of stone, a young girl wanders alone, cradling a large egg she guards as though something precious sleeps inside. She meets a solemn young man who carries a cross-shaped weapon and questions her faith in the egg, telling her that you have to break it open to learn what it holds. Their wordless wandering through the dead city forms this dialogue-sparse, surreal feature by Mamoru Oshii.
