Synopsis
Youko Nakajima, a withdrawn Japanese high schooler, is approached by a stranger named Keiki who kneels and swears loyalty to her. When demon-like beasts attack her school, Keiki hands her a sword and carries her across the Void Sea to the Twelve Kingdoms, a world ordered by divine kirin who choose each kingdom's ruler. Branded a kaikyaku, an outsider from Earth, Youko is hunted across unfamiliar lands as she struggles to survive and grasp why she was brought there.
