Ichigo Momomiya is on a date with her crush Masaya Aoyama when a strange light fuses her with the DNA of the endangered Iriomote cat, letting her transform into the cat-girl Mew Ichigo. Recruited by Ryou Shirogane and Keiichiro Akasaka, she leads four other infused girls — Minto, Retasu, Bu-Ling, and Zakuro — as the Mew Mews, defending Earth against aliens who want to reclaim it. Their task is to hunt the Chimera Animas, parasites that turn ordinary animals into monsters.
