Ruko Kominato receives a deck of WIXOSS cards from her brother Ayumu and learns she is a Selector, one of the few players whose cards house living avatars called LRIGs. After naming her own LRIG Tama, Ruko enters battles against other Selectors, each fighting to have a wish granted by winning, while losing three times strips a player of the game and her memories of it. What begins as a card game pulls Ruko into the darker rules hidden behind the Selectors' wishes.
