In a near-future Kyoto, Kurumi withdraws from the world after her boyfriend Hal dies in a plane crash. To draw her out, a caretaker robot is rebuilt to look and act like Hal, and the new Hal sets about granting wishes the couple once sealed inside scrambled Rubik's-cube puzzles. Solving the cubes one by one, he pieces together who Hal and Kurumi were to each other. This feature film runs a single, self-contained story.
