Yuki Itose, a deaf college student who navigates daily life through lip-reading and sign language, freezes when a foreign tourist asks her for directions on the train. Itsuomi Nagi, a well-traveled upperclassman who speaks three languages, steps in to help — and their brief exchange sparks a connection. As they begin meeting on campus, Yuki learns Itsuomi has never had a deaf friend, and he starts learning sign language to close the gap.
