Natsu Iwashimizu wakes on a sinking ship in open water with no idea how she got there, having gone to sleep in an ordinary life. Facing a meteorite strike, the government cryogenically froze five teams of young people to wake after the disaster and carry humanity forward. Natsu lands among Arashi, Mozu, and Semimaru on an island overrun by mutated plants and animals, where the withdrawn girl becomes the group's record-keeper of what is safe to eat.
