Synopsis
Appare Sorano, an eccentric Meiji-era inventor with no patience for social norms, ends up adrift at sea alongside the dutiful samurai Kosame Isshiki and washes up in Los Angeles with no money. To get home, the pair enter the Trans-America Wild Race, a coast-to-coast contest from Los Angeles to New York, in a steam-powered car Appare builds himself. Outlaws, fierce rivals, and the open frontier stand between them and the finish line.
