Ueno, the genius president of her junior high's science club, is in love with Tanaka, a younger club member — and far too proud to simply say so. Instead she builds outlandish inventions to engineer a confession sideways, and each one backfires in some humiliating, often crude way while the oblivious Tanaka reacts with flat sincerity. Her friend Yamashita watches from the sidelines, egging on the chaos. Short, gag-driven episodes follow Ueno's escalating schemes.
