Luke fon Fabre, the sheltered noble heir of Kimlasca-Lavaldear, has lived locked inside his family's manor since a kidnapping erased his early memories. During training with his swordmaster Van Grants, an intruder named Tear breaks in to kill Van, and in the struggle Luke is flung far across the world of Auldrant for the first time. Stranded and out of his depth, he is drawn toward the Score, an ancient prophecy that has dictated the fate of nations for thousands of years.
