Yuri Shibuya, an ordinary Japanese high schooler, is flushed through a school toilet and wakes in another world. There he is told he is its new Maou, king of the Mazoku, a people who look human but live for centuries and wield magic. Reluctant and pacifist by nature, Yuri has to rule among skeptical nobles, among them the brothers Gwendal, Conrad, and the hot-tempered Wolfram, whom he accidentally proposes to by slapping the wrong cheek.
