Short and quick-tempered, first-year Kenji Gion joins the rugby club at Kanagawa High School, where he meets the timid Sumiaki Iwashimizu and the imposing captain Takuya Sekizan. Convinced that rugby is the one sport where his size won't hold him back, Gion throws himself into a team built on players of every shape and ability. As the club drills toward its first matches, his stubborn drive starts pulling teammates who have given up on themselves back onto the field.
