Raven of the Inner Palace

In an empire modeled on ancient China, the sixteen-year-old Raven Consort Jusetsu lives apart from the rest of the inner palace, sharing no nighttime duties with the emperor and instead practicing arts that can summon spirits, break curses, and recover what is lost. When the young emperor Koushun seeks her out with a request, the cases that follow draw the secluded consort and her new attendant Jiujiu into the buried history of the court. Each spirit she is asked to lay to rest hides a human grievance behind it.
