Nine-year-old Nanoha Takamachi rescues an injured ferret who turns out to be Yuuno Scrya, a young mage from another world hunting twenty-one scattered artifacts called Jewel Seeds. He hands her an Intelligent Device named Raising Heart, and Nanoha's sudden aptitude for magic pulls her into the search. Racing her for the same Seeds is Fate Testarossa, another girl mage gathering them for her own ends.
