彩雲国物語

Shuurei Kou, born to one of the eight colour-named noble houses of Saiunkoku, lives on almost nothing while dreaming of a post in an imperial bureaucracy that is closed to women. The court advisors offer her a fortune to spend six months as consort to the young emperor Shi Ryuuki, who ignores his duties entirely, and she takes the job to push him toward ruling. Seiran, the swordsman her father took in, comes along as her guard while she works on an emperor who would rather be anywhere than the throne room.
