Polar Bear runs a cafe where talking animals and humans share the same tables, and his fondness for puns keeps his regulars groaning. Chief among them are Panda, who drifts through a part-time job at the local zoo being a panda, and the sharp-tongued Penguin. Sasako, a young woman, waits the tables. The episodes follow their unhurried daily routines rather than any single plot.
