Cid Kagenou, who plays at being the unseen mastermind Shadow, is thrown out of his fantasy world and wakes in the Japan of his past life as Minoru Kagenou, now a ruin overrun by magical beasts. Beta comes through with him, and among the survivors organized for war he runs into Akane Nishino, a classmate from that old life. This feature film adapts the Return to Earth arc that follows the second television season.
