Yuno earns a spot at Yamabuki Art High School and moves into the Hidamari Apartments across the street to be near it. There she befriends her neighbors: classmate Miyako and second-years Hiro and Sae. Episodes drift through the four girls' everyday routines around the apartment building and the art department, from cooking and school assignments to quiet evenings, told mostly through Yuno's eyes.
