In a near-future Germany, the dead rise as Demoniacs, biomechanical horrors that fuse with vehicles and machinery and turn them into weapons. A special police unit called XAT hunts them while struggling to understand the outbreak. Among the few who keep their minds after transforming is Joseph Jobson, a solitary rider who hunts Demoniacs on his own terms. The story tracks XAT, Joseph, and the people caught between them as the infection spreads.
