Set between the two television seasons, this three-part OVA follows Chise Hatori and the magus Elias Ainsworth as Chise prepares for the invitation she has received from the academy. Their household is interrupted when a spriggan rides up with word that something has gone wrong with the Wild Hunt, the host of fae riders that stirs only rarely. Meanwhile Gabriel, an ordinary boy newly moved from London and bored with the countryside, chases a thread of tobacco smoke out his window and straight into the hidden world of mages.
