Shun Asanaga, an upbeat fifteen-year-old, finds a strange crystal in his father's office, and touching it warps him into the underground world of Endra. There he meets Emilio, an imprisoned prince bent on reclaiming the throne from King Delzaine. Shun discovers he can summon a sword out of thin air, a Warp Relic, and the two strike an uneasy alliance, breaking out of the castle together as Shun searches for a way home.
