Marika Kato is an ordinary high-schooler in the space yacht club, working part-time at the retro Lamp Café, when she learns her late father captained the privateer ship Bentenmaru. Because only a direct descendant can keep the ship's letter of marque legal, the crew asks her to take command. Marika steps aboard the Bentenmaru and begins splitting her days between school and life as a sanctioned space pirate, staging showy raids on willing space liners.
