Natsuko Hirose, an anime prodigy who directed a hit series straight out of high school, dies from food poisoning and reincarnates inside A Tale of Perishing — the tragic film that inspired her career. In this doomed world her animator's skill manifests physically: anything she draws materializes to fight the Voids threatening the last surviving city. Knowing the story ends in catastrophe, Natsuko resolves to rewrite its fate from within.
