Someone's Gaze

Aya Okamura, called Aachan, has been working a couple of years and has just moved into her own place in a near-future city. Her mother works abroad as a doctor, leaving her father living alone with Mii-san, the cat the family has kept for years. As Aachan settles into independent life, the short revisits scenes of their household and the quiet shifts in how a daughter and her father stay close across distance. This is a roughly seven-minute Makoto Shinkai short film.
