Recca Hanabishi, a teenager obsessed with ninja who claims to be one, vows to serve anyone who can defeat him. He pledges himself to gentle classmate Yanagi Sakoshita after discovering her power to heal any wound, then learns he can summon flames and is the heir of the Hokage, a ninja clan wiped out centuries earlier. When the wealthy Kouran Mori covets Yanagi's healing for his own immortality, Recca and his friends are drawn into battles over mystical madougu weapons.
