In Kyoto's Teramachi Sanjou shopping arcade stands Kura, a licensed antique shop and appraisal house. When high schooler Aoi Mashiro tries to sell off a family heirloom there, she meets Kiyotaka Yagashira, the owner's grandson nicknamed Holmes for his uncanny eye, and ends up working part-time at the shop. Under his guidance she learns to tell genuine pottery and scrolls from forgeries, tagging along as Kiyotaka untangles the small mysteries that clients bring to Kura.
