Akane Isshiki lives a cheerful, money-tight life on the island of Oshima with her little sister Momo and her grandfather Kenjirou, the inventor whose Manifestation Engine powers the world. When alien creatures called the Alone attack the engine, Kenjirou hands Akane the key to the Vivid System and she fights back in a Palette Suit as Vividred. Winning means docking with the other suit pilots, Aoi, Wakaba and Himawari, while her quiet classmate Rei Kuroki, unknown to Akane, is the one aiding the Alone.
