In a Kyoto where shape-shifting tanuki share the city with humans and sky-dwelling tengu, carefree Yasaburo Shimogamo keeps watch over his family while his old mentor, the tengu Akadama, sulks in a rundown apartment and the beautiful Benten travels abroad. The season opens with the return of the Nidaime, Akadama's estranged son, now an English gentleman back after a century away, setting an old father-son grudge back in motion. This second season continues the Shimogamo family's story.
