Alvin, an armored swordsman set on making a name for himself, runs into a foul-mouthed dark elf named Karla who introduces herself as a healer. Instead of mending his wounds she botches a spell into a curse that kills him if he strays too far from her, binding the two together for the road ahead. Their adventuring partnership turns into a string of guild requests and bickering as Karla needles Alvin at every turn while reluctantly keeping him alive.
