In a worn-down world where mechanized Earless threaten what's left of humanity, Echo Rec scrapes by in a mining town dreaming of becoming a Player, one of the few who pilot mecha against the monsters. Digging through a junk heap, he finds Mu, an amnesiac girl with an input jack built into her body, the mark of a Player. With Echo plugging into her to summon their Equipment, the two set out across the ruins searching for her lost past.
