Eren Yeager grows up inside a ring of towering walls that shield the last of humanity from the Titans, giant humanoids that devour people without apparent reason. Alongside his adoptive sister Mikasa Ackerman and his bookish friend Armin Arlert, he dreams of the world beyond the walls until a Colossal Titan tall enough to peer over the outermost wall kicks it open and lets the creatures pour in. The attack costs Eren his home and his mother, and he enlists in the military's Survey Corps vowing to wipe the Titans out. Hajime Isayama's manga opens on the day that peace ends.
